“Library of 2035 | Speculative Design × Participatory Futures Workshop” Series
But if we see technology not as the arrow of time or the spear of the hero, but as a cultural carrier bag, then science fiction can stop being about tragedy and conquest and become a kind of peculiar but realistic literature of the present – a description of how human beings live, feel, relate, in this universal bag. In the universal bag, there is still room to hold ourselves, there is still time to gather seeds, sing, listen, and observe – and the story is not yet over.
**** We are honored to welcome Chris Woebken, designer and curator teaching at Parsons School of Design and Columbia University, who will guide us through a time-traveling design journey—together imagining what libraries and everyday life might become in the year 2035.
Who Should Join: Students, researchers, and practitioners in Humanities, Design, Architecture, Applied Arts, Education, Technology, Museum and Cultural Work, as well as anyone interested in AI, speculative futures, and participatory design.
What You Will Gain: Co-created future scenarios, rapid prototyping experience, strategic pathways, and exhibition-ready outcomes.
